2010 Ontario CANWARN Storm Spotter Training Dates
If you're interesting in becoming a storm spotter (keep in mind this is not storm chasing) feel free to attend any of these free sessions. You don't even need to own a Ham license. This year also marks the 25th anniversary of the May 31, 1985 tornado outbreak which included two F4 tornadoes that devasted Barrie and Grand Valley, taking 11 lives. Although there has been no F4 tornado since then in Ontario, last year gave us another reminder on why an early warning system is important. On August 20th, there were 18 confirmed tornadoes that struck South and Central Ontario, which broke the record for the most tornadoes in a single day in Canadian history.
